TASK 1 - shot by shot analysis of real video

In order to research in depth the conventions and prospects of music videos, I decided to analyse the speed the shots changed in the first 30 seconds of an already existing music video. This helps me not only get a sense of the time frames, but also lets me see the different types of shots and editing skills that are applied to music videos, which will enable me to apply them to my own production, helping to keep to the highest level of professionalism as I can. 
The two videos I have decided to analyse by their shot changes are Beyonce's 'Irreplaceable' and Rihanna's 'Take A Bow'. I chose these two as the artists are major within the music industry and their music videos will have been made to the best possible standard. When analyising the full music videos I will try and analyse videos that are similar in what I want to include in my own production, in order to get the best research and knowledge I can to achieve.
