Overall, our prelim is not the most professional looking music video out there, however I feel like if we had more time to thoroughly prepare and plan our prelim, our production and outcome could have been different. This is definitely something that will be taken into consideration when creating my music video as I will leave plenty of room to plan and think my ideas through, making sure I have enough footage to create the best video I can.
One thing that could have gone better was if our group was able to bring in costumes that could represent the people in the music video more accurately. As well as this, our group could have worked better and more efficiently together, some people were absent through the editing stage, and multiple times through filming people were having to go to meetings. This is down to a lack of communication between the group, which could have been prevented and with the right communication skills, our group may have been able to get things done quicker. Instead, the editing was left to Izzy and I to do by ourselves, with contributions from Mia time to time. This put a slight strain on the two of us as we wanted the editing to be a quick process, but with limited time and only two of us working on it, it was a harder process than expected.
The whole process was very helpful and gave me a large insight into what to expect when filming my product, as well as giving me tips as to what to do and what not to do. The prelim was very useful and has helped me to build and develop my skills, ready for when I do my own music video.

Prelim - Editing
As we had limited time to film and edit our preliminary, we decided to come in on monday afternoon in our free time to edit what we had on Adobe Premiere Pro. All together we have about a minutes worth of footage that was done as best as we could in the time and space we had.
Editing went smoothly, the only thing that was difficult was making sure things were in time with the real thing, as our clips were quite long, this was okay as we was able to cut our videos and change the speed to make them match the real video. Some of the shots are out of sync with the real video, but this is understandable and it was our first try at editing a music video.
This process was a beneficial experience and was essential for the growth in skills when going in to creating my own music video.

Prelim - Filming
Our group were at a disadvantage when doing this preliminary task, when the task was set, the majority of my group were away due to work experience or holidays thererfore we had less time than other groups to plan and carry out this prelim, this eventually added to the downfall of our preliminary.
Filming - we decided to film our video in the media rooms provided and had a limited amount of time. We wasn't able to bring in the costumes that were similar to in the video, and only had one day to film our preliminary. This was a major downfall as limited time hindered our performance. The day we filmed was the only available time we had as a group together and even that day was interrupted by meetings. We were unable to film the entire 1 minute 15 seconds that we needed to, as we simply did not have the time and resources needed to finish our preliminary. However, I do think we worked well in the time and space we had and worked effectively and productively, this helped us and gave us an insight into what filming a music video feels like.

Prelim - Planning
For planning, we story boarded each shot of the video we was recreating in order to get a shot by shot plan to follow through when filming, this helped us as we worked together as a team to analyse the video. Not much other planning was needed for this task.
PRELIM TASK
Planning - Preliminary
For the preliminary task that is assigned at the start of A2 to get us thinking about music videos is to recreate the first 1 minute 15 seconds of an already existing music video shot by shot with the song we were given. In my group are myself, Mia, Sam and Izzy, and the video we were given was Jessie J's 'Who's Laughing Now'. To prepare us for filming, we briefly analysed the shots and split the 1 minute 15 up into 4, so each of us analysed around 20 seconds of the video each. This helped as we were able to look more in depth at the shots and editing of the music video and therefore hope to create the same type of shots and add the same sort of editing to our preliminary.
